Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

He is asking, because UR lose most their value if you have no way to redeem them properly, not properly included the Ink cash and freedom.

they don't lose value. You can always upgrade the card if you need to do a transfer

If for the time being it's value is decreased, it effectively "lost value", even if it's pending a change to increase its value again

Is the $100 credit for domestic round trip tickets for 2-5 ppl still a benefit on the Reserve card being that its a Visa Infinite card? Also does this take away from the $300 travel credit?

That was never a benefit of CSR.

I understand its not benefit or CSR, but shouldn't Visa still give this credit as an Infinite benefit?

So you mean I will get the $100 credit in addition to the $300 Travel Credit?

I see here to lower credit limit to 1500 in first year to get AF waived... I'm not seeing this info in detail tho- can anyone confirm details on this? Also why isn't this the best option for everyone rather than canceling the card which I see everyone discussing?

+1 No one ever answered this question. Would anyone kindly shed light on to this? (I presume that it's one of those hush hush loopholes that people don't want to talk about so as to avoid Chase from cracking down.)

Also, unfortunately, It seems that I did not capitalize on this in time. I needed to have a second card from chase, which I didn't have. I finally got around to acquiring a second card (Freedom). I called Chase today and requested to move some of my Credit Line from my CSR to my Freedom. The lady consented gladly and proceeded to begin the process. She then put me on hold, claiming that she need to use a different screen. After she came back off from hold, she informed me that she would love to help me but the CSR has a limitation that the CL is not allowed to be under 10K (which is my current CL).

Questions:

1) Is it set in stone that I missed the boat of avoiding the AF?

If not, then:

2) Is this rep saying the truth? Or is it YMMV?? If so, then obviously I should HUCA?

Please advise. Thanks in advance!!!

That's to get approved, not to keep on the card.

I've heard of reps saying this before, it's BS, but seems like this has become too popular.....

As was clarified by mmgfarb, my question is about keeping the card, not approval.
Regardless, thank you for your reply!
