Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I logged in a few days ago and by all my grocery purchases it said 7 days left to redeem. Is that an indication, davar haavad chol homoed?! 🤣🤣🤣
Why didn’t anyone take this seriously telling ppl last minute doesn’t help them load up grocery account?

Because they extended it several times previously?

I just downgraded my reserve card to the Freedom so I can apply for the Preferred card. If I get approved for the Preferred card can change my Freedom card back to the Reserve?

Yes
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

Once you are approved it shouldn't be a problem.

The way it was explained to me (by a phone rep) is that when you close you're account it's not completely closed , it's pending for a few days (in case it was closed by mistake, you forgot to transfer the points, etc. you can reinstate it with no new pull), Though I've had success by asking over the phone if they can close it completely, YMMV.

Should.
You should write that on the DDF post. From the DDF post it seems that downgrading application should wait 3 days, no mention of waiting when closing the card

Because why in the world would you close over downgrading and getting a Freedom card?!?

If I have the card and I used the $60 door dash credit and $300 travel credit and I downgrade card in the middle of the year. Will they refund me the annual fee for months I didn’t use and will they charge me for the travel and DoorDash credit I already used?

Yes, no.
I'm not who you think I am.

I downgraded my Sapphire to the Freedom Flex. I assume that since it's a mastercard they changed the number completely and the Sapphire card now shows as a closed card on my list of cards on the chase website. Is there any benefit of upgrading the Freedom Flex to the Reserve vs. waiting to do the $4k spending on the Preferred and upgrade that card?

Any recent data points about getting a $100 statement credit or $150 retention offer like last year?
Thanks.

I called somewhat recently, rep checked for retention offers and said she had nothing to offer.
