Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Can’t speak if it works on apparel but Peloton monthly membership autobills your CC monthly - no way as far as I know to make a prepayment more than the current month due.

Trying to figure out any benefit to having the Reserve vs the Preferred...(besides peloton, Lyft & priority pass which I have no use for)

If I spend $100K a year...spending is the same in categories....

Preferred                                                                                            Reserve

100,000x 1.1= 110,000                                                                            100,000 Moved to travel @ 50% = 150,000
110,000 moved to travel @25% =137,500

Net difference is 12500 points (+$50 hotel credit)                                      Net AF is ($550-$300 travel (-$95 Preferred) = $155

Would seem that preferred has better value unless you are spending allot more then $100K on the card annually or you are transferring another 100K points form other Chase cards)

If you would simply spend that 100k on a freedom unlimited (without even getting fancy with spending categories) then the extra 20% value your assigned to the points by virtue of having the CSR will be worth $300+, more than the effective $155 AF cost you ascertained the CSR as having.

Thanks for the response. Would you mind to elaborate?

Just noticed this on the Chase UR portal. (It is a pretty good value for the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro.)

"Limited Time Offer!
Until the earlier of 11/30/21 or while supplies last, your Chase Sapphire Reserve points are worth 50% more when you redeem for any product on the Apple® Ultimate Rewards® Store.*"

Uh...how am I getting $0.015 on apple with PYB?

I did actually use this for airpods for my wife, and while the value per point was better here, I could've used chase points towards the sale price on amazon and spent less points at a worse value per point. Oh well.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

How does paying myself back for other transactions help me here? I'm already either paying myself back, or not, on all other eligible transactions. This is not an eligible transaction, so getting 1.5cpp is better than you'll typically get.

Let’s say normally you wouldn’t use points if you buy from grocery but to spend extra on AirPods you wouldn’t do  …..

That's a unique and unrelated scenario. While it may apply to a few fringe cases, this is a good value and one that many use their points at for travel.
