Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Thanks. I am still waiting for the Freedom card to arrive in mail, and will then apply for CSP.
You don't have to wait.
A downgrade keeps the same number.  Chase already has this card as a Freedom - check on your account.

Is this new? you can only pay back the FULL annual fee with points @1.25, there is no option to pay back a portion.
PM me for a good deal on flights

I've had the Sapphire Reserve card for many years.  I decided to apply for the Sapphire Preferred and was *approved*.  I'm reading in this thread (and T&Cs of the Preferred spending bonus offer) that it isn't possible to hold multiple Sapphire cards.  Is that true?  Or is it that I will just not be eligible for the Preferred spending bonus?  Do I now need to downgrade my Reserve or is it too late to do that in order to remain eligible for the Preferred bonus?

Did you get any sort of pop up when you submitted the application?

No pop up.  I did have to call reconsideration though because they had to validate my ITIN.  Once that was done, I was approved.

Also, I just looked on the app and noticed that the sign up bonus tracker is not showing up.  Not sure if it's too soon for this to show up since the card was only issued today.... I'll keep checking to see if it shows up on the app.

Edit -- just noticed this morning, that the app is now showing the new account bonus tracker!  Seems like all is right with the world now ;) and that you can, in fact, have two Sapphire cards

To product change from Freedom to Reserve is it a hard rule that Reserve needs min 10k credit line? Anyway around it?
I have done a few years back with less than 10k but could be things changed
I Huca a few times and every rep is telling me Reserve needs min of 10k line.
Any data points would be helpful!

I believe these are the rules: You can't get approved for a new sapphire if you have that specific sapphire open, or if have received a bonus on *any* sapphire in the past 4 years. For the latter point, recon can straight up tell you the date and when you would need to apply again.

I upgraded my sapphire prefferd to the reserve and did not request an additional user, however on the prefferd my wife was an additional I got a second card in her name, is this the norm or will they charge me for it?

Thanks for your response. The rep told me I could continue using my prefferd until the reserve arrived
Now that the card arrived will it get canceled or can I use it for an AU card?

I am looking to upgrade one of my Chase freedom cards to a Sapphire Reserve so i can combine the points and book travel using Chase.com. Does it make more sense to redeem for cash at the 1.5 per point or book through Chase using the Chase Reserve card? Does using Sapphire point really give you that much better of a purchase on chase.com?

How would you redeem for cash at 1.5 cents per point?

When does the travel credit reset? Is it still annual based on december statement cutoff or did they switch it to anniversary date?
