Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I had a weird experience with Chase this week. I saw a Sapphire Reserve Offer for Allbirds - $100 off of $200.

I added it to my card, and ordered $200 worth of allbirds last week. I checked back today and the offer was gone - no longer available, and not listed on 'added to card'.

I PUTPAC'd chase, and they said that Allbirds pulled the offer, and told me that if I don't get a credit posted in 14 days from the order I can escalate.

I will obviously PUTPAC again, and hope that they give me the credit.

Curious if anyone has seen this behavior with other offers?

I made a medical claim lately for a Dr. visit and they don't want to pay back because they are saying it wasn't an emergency.
In the past such a claim was paid back.
I think it's the new company that they use.
If that's the case the reserve is getting less worth it because i never had to buy travel insurance.
Anyone with same experience?

I had the same thing and the credit posted after a few days.

Chase credited $300 for travel to my account, yet I've only spent about $100 on travel since my last statement closed. Thoughts?

I upgraded a freedom unlimited to a CSR, the CSR hasn't arrived yet and the FU still works in the meantime. Anyone know if I have waived for-ex fees when i use this existing card (going on a trip and new CSR won't come in time)

I would assume that yes, although my experience is with AMEX.

I just filed a car rental insurance claim. The new company asks for much more details and time will tell how efficient they are...
The previous company, on large claims from Europe, took between a half a year to a year to get the money if the rental company didn't have all the documents they required. (Which sometimes were ridiculous.)

Any reason then to upgrade instead of just opening a new card, other than hard pull ?

Assuming that you did not get a sign up on this in the last 48 months, obviously better to get the sign up bonus unless you’re planning on gaming it and only signing up for a few months and then downgrading the AF posts quicker on a new card so you’ll have less time to play
