Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I guess I should ask if travel credits on other chase cards (ie ritz carlton) can be used to purchase airline gift cards? I would assume the same would apply here.
This credit is much better than the Ritz credit. The Ritz credit is for airline incidentals; this is for all travel.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Ritz is giving out PP with guest access with free AUs. PP is instantly rendered almost worthless.  :)

AUs are getting their own priority pass?

Amex dispute dept is a disaster lately.

The issue is that since the Indians are handling it, the way these idiots do it is lets say you bought a ticket with United to Miami for $200 and for some reason they overcharged you with $1000, so you file a dispute for $1000 explaining the situation and these Indians instead of taking it up with United and telling them that they overcharges customer with $1000 they just send in dispute and of course United answered that "the passenger flew on the ticket" and Amex just forwards that to the customer and closes the case since United is right..... I would never believe that this is what happened to Amex wouldn't i see story after story...

So Amex does not for me to stick with them....

Understood. I really just wanted to know about this card and just mentioned the Ritz card as a reference point. Not to go off topic, but can Ritz be used for airline gift cards or they know if gift card is purchases vs. baggage fee for example?

At one point, after asking what you bought they would verify it, which is why people stopped using the Ritz card to buy AA GCs. I dont know if they still verify it.

For me when I tried it, they said that it didn't match what I said. I hung up, and SM'd for the credit and got it via SM.

I know that the answer is likely "because they can", but what's the justification for charging $75 for an AU card? If I'm going to use this card for everyday spending then I need two cards. But I really don't want to pay $75 just to have a second piece of plastic. It also makes the markup over the CSP in year 2 to be $130. That's a lot.

I hear that although it seems like a lot of money to pay for lounge access, at least for me. I don't think I've ever been to a lounge before.

I wonder if there's a way to get a second identical card. That's all I'd really need. Both cards would have my name and number on it. I wonder if Chase would do that.

The CC itself does not get you into PP lounges. You need the physical PP card or the electronic version. The PP card is mailed to you separately once you are approved for the card. Alternatively you can get the QR card the day you're approved.

Easy to get two identical CCs. Just call and ask for a replacement because you mangled yours. You'll get the same card, same acct #, cvv, etc.

Doesn't chase also provide you with an identical non-metal version of this card upon request?
