Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

The 5/24 rule is only for Chase cards or all credit cards? I opened an SPG Business card and the United mileage card and the JetBlue card. Does those three count? The others I opened for sure count to the 5/24.

All cards that show on the CR that they pull count.
"LESS IS MORE" It is the cumulative effect that kills deals!!! How many times do I have to say this?  >:(

All cards,

According to some reports Amex biz cards that don't show up on your CR don't count.

Is the consensus that if you are a legit CPC ($250,000 +) you'll be able to get this card even if you're way over 5/24 through your private banker in branch?

I've seen someone with $100k with Chase get denied....

Not sure I've seen many success stories -- but I haven't read the whole thread.

All success stories over 5/24 are through CPC. But doesn't necessarily need to be with $250k.

Any significant number of datapoints for rejections through CPC?

I'm trying to figure out what NOT to say as I am a new CPC client as of a few weeks ago and don't want to appear to be a bonus whore....

Good stuff. Now I gotta see if CPC are getting approved online, or if I have to go to branch. Of course.
CPC are definitely getting approved online. My wife is CPC and was way over 5/24 and got instantly approved online.

Was with my wife approved although both wayyyy over 5/24. Probably helps that I'm Chase Private Client. I applied in branch (was informed that I was pre-approved), and my wife applied online. Hers was instant approval and mine was pending, although my banker got me approved pretty quickly- not sure what he did...

And after 90 minutes, approved!
#CPCFTW

approved way over 5/24. original decline due to being blacklisted because of transfering points. many hours on hold. bottom line approved with transfering credit. the key is to be micaven ein oid melvadi!
Great data points.
@Dan what was main argument for approval? And from your brief post it sounds like you pushed CPC pretty hard. Is that true?

1) I have am 6/24 in Aug which drops to 4/24 by end of the month. Is 5/24 considered on a month to month basis or from the date the credit is pulled?
2) I have no chase checking but I am pre-approved at the branch and apply through the banker and get denied can I call recon by myself later?
3) If I am not pre-approved at the bank which option is better to get the approval at the bank or online ?

Is there such thing as 4/24? Chase rep said after 4 cards I'm automatically turned down by the system.

coz I is a united card and the other is a chase own card type.. so probably you cant move between 2 brands or different types.. upgrade can only happen within the same brand I guess..
