Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

any reports of non CPC and over 5/24, approved?
Best way to improve chances is to go into branch and check if you are pre-approved. Success rate is quite high when pre-approved in branch.

yes
Since there are people who got approved instantly without CPC while being over 5/24, I will say that it most not have to do with CPC.

Unless you have a story of someone who is over 5/24, AND was declined AND being CPC helped when his banker called in, that would be a nice data point.
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

Yes.

I'd love to speak to someone who is not CPC, not branch pre-approved, over 5/24 and approved.

Correct.

The guy has/had a Chase credit card for over 20 years,  maybe that helped.

Is it better to apply during the day? Does it make a difference regarding recon and 1 credit pull for two cards?
I don't know if I will be approved and I do have a personal Chase banker at my branch... Has anyone applied for two cards in the branch at the same time?

No, freeze doesn't prevent soft pulls.
Awesome.

enjoy while it lasts i guess 3 months? after that major benefits will be gone
What "major benefits" are being killed off in 3 months?

It took the Citi Prestige quite some time to begin trimming benefits, and even after that it's still quite competitive with this card.

Applied in branch yesterday and was declined for 5/24. Apparently, I'm 12/24. Out of desperation, I went to a branch today and the CPC banker signed me up for CPC even though I don't meet the requirements. I do have $100k+ with Chase and a long history with them. The banker specifically said that CPC allows people to bypass rules like 5/24. I went at the end of the day, so he said he will call for recon on Thursday morning (he's off tomorrow) to see if he can get it approved. He said it shouldn't need a new application or credit pull and that my chances are "a coin flip".

Also, now my wife is CPC and I will have her apply in branch when we get the chance.

Applied online, got a pending, called in, got transfered 3 times, and got approved! But only 14k line of credit, isn't it very little?
