Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

If only over with ah's remove them from your report before you apply. If you already applied I would say sure go for it
Which report does Chase use? How long does it take to get removed as AU from report?

As have many over 5/24ers online.
I wonder how they determine who to allow past it though?

maybe if you have a long standing relationship with them, or there taking so many apps online now that some are slipping through the cracks?

'Account' includes CC's, not only banking.

You need to have something with them in order for pre-approvals to show up in their system.

-1 banks have relationships with credit bureaus that enable them to do soft pulls on the spot for existing cardmembers and prospects alike. This fuels their pre-qual systems (Chase, Citi, etc).

I'm talking about the in-branch pre approval accessible to bankers, not Chase pre approvals in general.

I walked in to a branch and the banker had no idea what I was talking about when I asked her to check for pre-approval, she even went to ask a manager. She wanted to just apply which would result in a hard pull, I said no thank you, I can do that on my own.

And what do you suppose is the difference?

Dan just posted on DDMS about keeping his Amex for grocery and return protection. Has anyone used the return/purchase protection on Chase? Will this be easier/better to use because its a "higher end" card or the same as any other Chase claim.

I doubt it. Amex still rules in that area.

If I am over 5/24, no pre approvals, no cpc, is there any advantage to applying in branch vs online? it doe snot seem that the bankers have any pull with getting an approval here

its a long shot, but does having a mortgage with chase get you anywhere?
It probably can.
with my bank (not Chase), due to a loan i have out, i am like platinum gold star, or whatever they call it. Free checks, and no monthly fees for any of my accounts there.

On the phone now with them
They said they need 29K for this application to be approved!!
but then she said she can do less if requested but above 10k

so she moved 15k over and then she processed application - had to transfer me for verification..... 22mins later.....
Approved

and Rushed it to 2-3 Business Days!
