Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Yes
If preapproved
just go to a branch ask the banker if i have any pre-approved credit card offer? Just give my SS number?
I think I will get denied since i got denied by recon just a week ago. It may go to pending and the recon may deny me.

It can't hurt to try besides there are DPs on people being instantly approved after being denied online/recon.

If my parents are CPC, can that help me get approved?
Make a joint checking account with them then you will be CPC.

You can also open a joint safety deposit box with one of them, if that's easier.

Hey mods!

Perhaps we can split up this thread into 1)"Applying for SR ie. 5/24, CPC etc. and 2)"Using SR" ie. the benefits, how to maximize them etc.?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

There is this thread about the benefits already

Does the $300 travel credit reduce the 4k spend (i.e. I spent 3700 and 300 on travel).

The Bloomberg article quoted above says they ran out of metal cards and where sending out plastic ones. Could be the delay is due to the shortage of physical cards. Just speculating.

Can someone explain why I need to have AU's removed from all 3 bureaus when Chase generally only pulls from EX in NY?

IIRC it's not coded as travel with visa.
and can someone please add it to the wiki so people will stop asking the same question over and over again
