Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

If I'm CPC but not pre approved in branch, does it matter if I apply online or at branch?

Is it normal for chase to shift credit and approve without asking
My dad received a letter today that they shifted credit from his BA card to approve his CSR (when he got the pending message I told him to wait, he was approved without calling in.)

Sure. BTW, make sure that you're pre approved, not just pre qualified. Ask them what your APR rate will be. If they give you a range, you're prequalified. If they give an exact rate, you're pre approved.

wow-good tip!

i asked if im pre approved for any cards he asked which ones specifically (this was the temp bank manager) so then i said any but im really interested on csr.
so he said i was, and also was for 50k united, slate, freedom. he said if i was praproved for the csr that a good chance i was pr approved for more since that was the big card.

he also mentioned if i were approved  that i would receive a plastic card since they ran out.

so i should ask if i was pre approved and ask for my APR?

After calling recon this morning was approved for the Reserve card - yay! I simulanteously applied for the marriott card and got declined due to the 5/24 rule. Can I apply for the Marriott business card today or is there a limit on how many cards I can apply for in 1 day. Wasn't sure becuase this was a mix of consumer and business cards. Thanks

If you were denied 5/24 for the Marriott personal what makes you think you will be approved for the business one?

You are correct. It is different. The Marriott Business is not affected by 5/25 - that isn't to say you'll be approved as there are a myriad of other factors that go into the approval... It will also be a separate credit pull.

Kinda weird but awesome DP. Applied for brother (under 5/24). On Sept 3. Got dreaded pending message .. called recon and they said that I need to speak with verification and that I should call back on Tuesday since they are closed for holiday. Well Tuesday was 2 days ago, was busy with work and didn't get a chance, but the card arrived in the mail yesterday!!! Plastic not metal 😎

Just got mine too (even though they only approved on Tuesday and said not expediting). Plastic card, no box (and not even a sticker saying it needs to be activated). Spending almost complete.

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
