Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I tried to get CPC today and the banker wouldn't budge on the 250k minimum. How do people get CPC without 250k?

I'm a little disappointed here... Dan's post on the CSR lists catering as one of this things you get 3x points on. However, I just paid for a wedding and the catering charges show up on the bill as 1 point. The charge itself on the bill literally says "catering" in the title.

Time for a lawsuit.

On a serious note. It depends how they classify themselves on the iso code.

I had in the past where they manually added points, try through sm.

Just SMd about this myself.
"I would like to explain that as of 8/30/2016 transactions billed as Bakeries, Caterers, & Dairy product stores will no longer qualify as accelerated rewards earnings. This is for all Chase products to remain fair and consistent."

They did give me the 3x points though as they failed to let me know about the change.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

OK, I'll try to SM now and let you know. Very strange that they'd make such a change w/o notifying us. As you can imagine, there are a lot of points at stake here, since it was a wedding...

Yes. Bizarre that (i) it can even legally be done so soon after initial launch, and (ii) without notice..

DP- CPC banker told me that when he called to push through a CPC, rep asked him where are the assets validating client's CPC status.

To get the 1.5cpp for travel, do expenses need to be booked through UR website?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Well, SM responded that it's the merchant's issue for not coding the transaction correctly. They didn't even mention a manual adjustment. I guess I just lost 5,000 points...

I was way over 5/24 and got declined 10 -15 days back. called couple of times for reconsideration and even the banker tried it but was not successful.
The Banker upgrade me CPC as i do lot of transactions with chase but not a great balance. I waited for a week until my chase online account shows i am COC and i called in today and was approved for a Reserve.

As others said. It doesn't matter if are over 5/24. If you are CPC the chance of approval is high.

Alas, for those of us over 5/24 in states with out chase, it seems pointless.

Sounds like it's true even in Chase states if you don't have CPC or pre-approval.
