Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I only got approved after applying calling and transferring credit
That's what I am expecting or at least hoping for.

Is the travel credit as easy as with the Barclays Arrival, where if you book a refundable hotel and cancel you still keep the travel credit?

Went into branch no pre-approval for myself or my wife.

Any other way to get pre-approval ?

No. Apply online and hope for the best.

Nobody can determine that for you. Do some reading here and decide if it's worth it or not

I was 3/24 on primaries and 6/24 including AU's. Online application was initially denied, but got approved after 5 min call to recon.
They didn't extend new credit but shifted $15k from existing lines.

So I applied on 9/2. I waited until 9/2 because I had a card that was listed as opened on 9/1/2014 and I was waiting for it to fall out of the 5/24. I did have 5 other primary cards and 2 AUs but one of my primary cards was a Target store card. So I applied and called in. They said I was denied for having too many cards in the last 24 months. I started discussing further with the recon rep and she said she was disregarding the AU cards and she wasn't counting the Target card, but that I still had 5. So she told me she's counting the 9/1/2014 card because Experian doesn't list the date on their credit report, only the month. I said I have my other credit reports that show a 9/1/2014 date but she couldn't do anything.

So I'm waiting until 10/1 to apply again and hopefully it goes well this time. Kind of frustrating that I was so close and they wouldn't give it to me even though the card was technically more than 24 months old.

No need to apply again.  Open this application again.

You mean I can call back on 10/1 about my earlier application from 9/2?

Great! Hopefully I can save the credit pull. Now to see if Chase recon is open on Saturday night or at least Sunday.

call 800-432-3117 and see what it says, if you get the 7-10 day massage you would most likely not lose anything from calling recon. and if you get the 2 weeks or 30 day massage it will usually not help anything by calling but you will most likely anyhow get approved or they will contact you if they need anything.
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

Will $300 credit work on ticket purchased through priceline? Is there any difference between SR and Citi Prestige in this regard?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.
