Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Adverse Action meaning chase shuts down all you accounts. Opening a lot of cards in a short amount of time can sometimes be a trigger. Read more here http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=11216.0

Maybe I'm misreading, but it seemed that 2 or 3bming generally isn't seen as a trigger? I'm not sure about 4 though...

That seems to be correct but I'm not sure, the more you open though, the greater the risk.

I read on some site that pre qualified works. Are you sure not?

Sometimes the Banker will say that you are "pretty qualified" to apply for a card if you have no pre-approvals, to be sure, ask to see their screen and check if any of the cards are highlighted in green, those are pre-approvals.

Alright thanks. And do they ask any more questions than applying online? Will it be a problem if I only have a college checking account?

It's actually quicker than applying online.

Another way to know if you're pre approved is if they can tell you the what your apr will be. (H/t: DS)

It doesn't matter, the point is that they will only have an APR to tell you if you are pre-approved.

My wife added me as AU on her CSR card 45 days ago and I still don't see AU fee on her CSR account. I manage all her accounts. Does that mean I got lucky with the $75 fee?

Also How can I rent a car in my name using the CSR ( wife doesn't drive) and be covered with Primary rental coverage? If I see the $75 fee, I may have to call to cancel . What about renting car   using UR points on Chase UR site? I have my own chase with UR accounts but no Chase sapphires that gives primary coverage.

Thanks

Was denied for CSR 5/24. Currently have freedom and CSP.
1. Does it pay to upgrade without signup bonus?
2. If yes, which one should i upgrade?
3. Should i upgrade CSP to CSR and change Freedom to Freedom unlimited?

Hi, im sure this question was already asked but I couldn't find it so I would really appreciate if anyone can give me advise on the below:
I was thinking opening the CSR for my wife just to get the sign up bonus ( transfer the points to my account)  and the 300$ this yr and next yr and then either close the card or maybe even downgrade to a no fee card? which is better? is that a good idea?
