Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Usually two or three days, tops, for charges to move from "pending" to "posted."

I want to verify that these SWA GC's will get the credit.
If so, I'll quickly apply for CSR for my wife too....but time running out.

Unless Chase is having issues, you should have your answer within 24 hours.

As for the CSR for your wife, keep in mind that some applicants are getting a Jan. 2017 closing date for their first statement, so you're already in "roll of the dice" territory. (Some people have claimed to have had luck getting their first statement date moved up into Dec., but it's apparently not a sure thing.)

They should know you're CPC, but it doesn't hurt to mention it. That said, CPC isn't remotely an automatic 5/24 override, and if you're basically CPC in name only (i.e., not a lot of assets with Chase), it probably doesn't help as much as claimed in some corners.

Because what many have experienced does not count anywhere near as much as what JSK thinks reality should be.

What's the point of this? I told him to mention CPC and warned him it's not an automatic 5/24 override. Which part of that was incorrect?

And you are looking like one of those "trolls" you claim to hate so much.

My reply above was factually correct. The only reason you replied was to be snarky and/or to stir up crap.

how can it be factually correct without the data to prove it

What data? If CPC was an automatic 5/24 override, we'd know about it by now. It's not.

Some CPC clients get exempted; others don't. Basic facts.

The people I've seen on other sites who said they have CPC but were rejected anyway due to 5/24 were people who were basically CPC in name only — which, frankly, is what we'd expect, since it's known that CPC isn't an automatic 5/24 override. We wouldn't expect Chase to flip a coin; we'd expect them to make exceptions for the better customers.

5/24 is a system rejection. Learning systems through experience and experimentation can reap better dividends than applying one's own logic to how a system should operate and assuming that to be reality.

5/24 isn't merely a "system rejection." It's enforced by recon reps fairly strictly, including for some CPC clients. (But you knew that; you were just looking for an excuse to be condescending toward me.)

Interesting how you changed your post from a question to a statement based on an assumption.
