Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

So an update to my situation from before:

Approval date: 11/29/16 (Confirmed with Chase)
Payment due date: 1/11/17 (Confirmed with Chase)
Statement close date: 1/14/17 (Confirmed with Chase).

December statement? None according to Chase. So basically according to them I can’t get the 2016 travel credit. Makes NO sense whatsoever. So basically although I got approved 11/29/16 according to Chase the first statement is cut over a month out from approval date.

I’m afraid to move forward with the travel expenses without written confirmation from Chase that it will count towards the 2016 credit. I've been recommended by some of you to call and ask, but even if I call I'll have no record that I am eligible for a 2016 credit.

I've asked them specifically for each date, and asked specifically about the December statement. I've even asked them "if I spent $300 on travel before this 12/14/16 will it apply to the 2016 travel credit?" and they skirted around the answer and gave me a summary of the travel benefits again.

I know there are countless DPs for the 25 day rule for statement close to payment due date. Is there any possibility that that will not apply in all cases? Just paranoid of moving forward with the assumption that I will be eligible for the 2016 credit without any written confirmation from Chase.

Ur statement should print anyway. I have had statements close within 10 days of opening a card...

Either way you should do $300 spend now. worst case scenario is that for whatever reason your statement does not close in December - so it goes towards 2017 and you can't do it again next month.

If you don't do the spend now, worst case scenario is that statement does close on 12/14 and you lose out on an extra $300

Hasn't been updated yet in the system, so I'll keep you posted. But I received an SM on my wife's account stating the new closing date will be December 28 for 2016 and the 28th of the month going forward.

It is still possible. Here's one from yesterday
My due date is 01/18

However, many people who applied even before yesterday did not get Dec statements and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to who gets what.
If your statement closes in Jan you may be able to get it changed but no guarantees,  just read the last few pages of this thread.

Do you need to request PP and if yes can you do it via SM before you get the card?

If you have a Chase online account you can see the payment due date already.

Just applied for dw. We recently moved and she put new address on the application. They want me to fax in verification since there's no chase within distance from us. Any way to expedite this process?

Here's the # 201- 328 -3289. Hope it helps you.
