Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

What do you mean?
Only way to get 100k is to apply with a business relationship manager in branch.

This is a crosspost.  My other entry was in an appropriate thread that is used infrequently and I want to book tickets today.

The trip interruption/ trip cancellation benefit.
Is it the same as travel insurance- or something less?
To activate it, I can use it to pay the fee portion of a mileage ticket - correct?

(Is there a reason I should use a United Explorer card for a united flight instead of the Reserve? It's international, so a bag is included anyway.)

But not with the 100k bonus points.

Any idea or assumption if this promotion will ever come back?

Why don't you just buy regular travel insurance? It comes with alot of other benefits that could be useful, and is cheap.

I guess that's my real questions.
What are the reasons to buy travel insurance? How do I buy it? Is the credit card benefit a good substitute?

I booked myself a ticket yesterday using someome elses chase points a little bit of money was also charged to their  credit card. Is there anyway to gain the insurance, and travel delay benefits to my reservation?

Not unless you are a first degree relative or spouse of one, I spent a decent amount of time clarifying these issues with CS

I do not think this is true, many travel insurances are actually much harder to make claims from than chase (I have personally successfully made a few) in fact allianz which is marketed by airlines has terrible reviews and does not cover more than chase. So if you ask me go with chase also yes the ticket is covered if any portion of it is paid with points or cash on the chase card.

Never buy insurance that's marketed by the airlines. Ever.
