Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Question. If you use your UR miles for a trip on United or Delta, can you still get the perks (like free bag, etc.) if you have their card?

Will be able to spend 300 again after my Dec statement closes on the three cards. AF post 12/1, 12/1 and 1/1.

Question re: travel credit Two people in same household have CSR, both travel credits on calendar year (not cardmember year). One already renewed and paid AF. The other's AF is scheduled to post 12/1, same as statement date. Should they cancel/request PC for the 2nd card now? Or do they have 12/1-12/31 to spend $300 2018 travel credit?

No. yes.
It's not YMMV on United?
I understand that everything is YMMV when it comes to interfacing with humans, but I thought it's even YMMV with respect to whether the system prompts the agent to impose the fee.

How about... If I get a ticket with UR miles plus $$, and I charge the dollars to my UA or DL card (can I), will I then get the perks?

My $300.00 credit will renew after my December 6th statement cycle.  The $450.00 annual fee will be billed to my account on November 1, 2017.

Any way I can avoid the fee and use the benefit?

Thx

A couple days ago, I booked a domestic economy ticket using the portal and put ~$4 on my umpe cc. Immediately after booking I checked the baggage charge estimates and saw $0 for the 1st bag (presumably for booking the ticket with my card).

Now I check and I'm seeing that the estimate of charges are $25 for the first bag.

Any recent DP of downgrading Sapphire reserve to no AF sapphire card?
up to the 4th rep telling me it cant be done.
looking for DP if the card was opened less then a year. after a year they are always more lenient.

Would love to hear how this turns out! In theory you should get all the card benefits, including the free checked bag.

2) If I cancel after do i get back anything?
3) when can I use the next $300 travel credit?

If anyone can help greatly appreciated.
