Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

IINM it was said up thread that it's 30 days from when the statement the AF was charged in, closes. Either way, when your Dec statement closes, it will most likely be less than 30 days from the 1st, so cash in the credit and close/downgrade then.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

If it says that my next statement is due on January 7th, can I spend the $300 Travel Credit and have it refunded for 2018?

Yes, as long as your statement closes in 2018, which it will based on your information.

Also, finding all this info very confusing and difficult to find the answers, so apologize if I missed this buried somewhere in this thread (I've looked through many).
I got CSR Jan 2017.  Received first bill Feb 9, 2017.
When will my TC renew (last bill received on the Dec 9)?
Is there any indication anywhere that I now have new TC or just need to buy and get the refund?

I thought that my closing date for the Chase Sapphire Reserve is Dec. 17 (my wife's closing is then), so I thought I have till then to make a purchase eligible for travel credit, I just made the purchase, & now I see that the December statement closed already Dec. 10, tried changing the closing date, but the rep assured me that the next closing will be in January.

Anything I can do, to make the statement close in December?

(Sorry for the repost, didn't see this thread when making the first post, I'm on tapa = not the best search. Now that I saw this post, I'm posting it in the right thread)

It's not possible to make a statement close twice in a month, and since your statement already closed there is no way to postpone it. I'm sorry.

Sure, but will it get you anywhere? Probably not.

At the risk of sounding really dense, I have a question about the travel credit. I just don’t get it. 🙈

I signed up for the card in January, 2017. My first statement closed 2/15/17. My current statement closed 12/15/17. My travel credit reset and now says it will reset 12/18. I was not charged an annual fee yet.

If I spent the $300 before 12/31- will my credit reset again on Jan 1?
