Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

yes, i asked her before what bureau she'd use and she said TU, meanwhile I got like 6 email alerts from the various monitoring sites and they show both EX and TU were accessed...
She shouldn't have had to pull to begin with.

"So for example, if you have a Sapphire Preferred and it has been more than 24 months since you earned the bonus on it, you can downgrade that to a Freedom or Freedom Unlimited and then apply for and receive a bonus on a new Sapphire card. You’ll want to wait a couple days until the logo on your Chase.com account changes from Sapphire to a Freedom logo."

Ah, you should have just waited a couple days and started from scratch again.

so, after a 1:45 long phone call, speaking to 6 reps, one contradicting the next, I'm still without the CSR approved and the sapphire turned freedom card has not been closed, I was told to call back in a couple days once the sapphire turned freedom card is no longer showing on their end as a sapphire, and they can then approve me without additional pulls, they can use the pull for up to 30 days. I hope this is true...
Either way, no one could tell me why experian was pulled as well, they all said they only see transunion, is there any point in me calling experian to try get it removed? (btw in the past, Chase has only ever pulled from experian for me)

Chase systems are whacky lately.   My long ago closed Avios card reappeared in my online portal yesterday.  Hasn't been there for months.

Statement closed on Dec 7. Charges made now will be eligible for 2018 airline credits since next statement will close in January 2018, correct?

so now that 2 days have elapsed and chase's system should now show my card as a freedom, I called back but between the 3 reps I spoke to they contradicted one another. they insist I need to close the freedom since it was once a sapphire, (i told them the other freedom was also once a sapphire, why doesn't that need to be closed, they had no answer) they also told me the bonus is not guaranteed as I have had one before, I mention the application rules say 24 months not lifetime, again no response, just that this is what they know... (one of the 3 reps said that they can't even do that, there's no way to approve the SR at all since at the time of its application I had a sapphire... I'd have to apply again)
after the first 2 reps I hung up and HUCA'd, the guy that answered read all the notes, what can I do now? I don't think continuous HUCA will help as they read the notes.

Doesn't matter with Chase. You could spend on anything travel related.

I just got the JP Morgan Reserve Card. to replace my regular Chase Reserve Card.
(I plan on posting on the forum in the JPM reserve thread to explain why I did this)

Dec statement closes on Jan 3, 2018.

Can I still get 300.00 credit for 2017, and then again in 2018?

Thanks Guys!

Is that specific to you? It's possible it is including the cost for an AU.

I don't think so.  I don't have any AUs on my account.
