Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

If I haven't yet used my global entry credit and need to cancel my card next Sunday is there anything I can do.. I assume the charge only goes through once you get approved which would probably take a few weeks..?
pretty sure you get charged when you submit the application. takes a few days for the charge to appear like any other charge.

IME, although you get charged regardless, the charge only posts once the application is completed. Ie approved for an interview or declined

Might be that both the charge & the initial approval take a couple of days, but they have no connection

Just checked my statement of that month & the charge was on the same date as applying. The initial approval was only 9 days later

I'm assuming that it was pending for a few days, but it shows as the same day that I applied, and so does the credit

It wasn't easy to get. It definitely required "pull". I dont have 10 mm lol. But I have deep relationships

The real reason I did it was due to the differences between the concierge services. JPM reserve I can use the 1.5 cent per mile value in a much more flexible manner. They can literally book directly with the airline or hotel or with Expedia or even directly to the hotel. (pay for your pesach hotel etc)

To me that was worth the effort to get it.

Also I'm getting United Club access for the same price as the Regular reserve card.

Not much "effort" involved in getting the JPMR. Then again, the added bennies you mention (aside from UA Club) aren't much to write home about either, so I guess it's a fair trade.

Wish they'd do something to distinguish it like the Centurion.

My experience was that it was hard, and definitely not a HUCA type of thing. Generally speaking They are really trying to limit this to 10mm people. Why? I have not idea as the card is not special other than what I mentioned. For me it  it means I can extract 1.5 in almost a cash like manner. But then again I happen to be stuck with Chase cards for business spending.

Im a little unsure over here as iv read conflicting reports. Im now 90 days after my Sapphire Reserve AF has hit, if i am to downgrade to the "no-fee" Sapphire card now will my $450 fee be prorated and partially refunded or since its after 30 days i am automatically on the hook for all of it, whether i downgrade or cancel...TIA
