Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

just sent a secure msg. And next thing I know it I see a big -450 on my account.
OK good to know, however, my question is really the opposite. I have not been hit with the fee yet since upgrading in mid November and I was wondering if I should expect it or if it is some type of glitch that they forgot to charge me.

Wait...you told chase in SM that you weren’t charged an annual fee? (sorry couldn’t tell if you were sarcastic here)

the message I sent was (paraphrasing)" Hi, can I please move $xxx(cheshboned to take out enough that it winds up with 1500$ only) from this card to 'x' card I think I will need the credit over there more than with this card...
they said sure.
than a few days later I got the AF refunded.

ETA: I cannot promise if this works anymore I have no clue. But it cant hurt to try. also, was told this only works for the first year of the card but that could also not be true...
nothings impossible- the word itself says Im possible

I booked a car rental through Chase UR using Chase reserve points. Is insurance and everything covered the same as if I paid with the reserve itself?

They told me a while ago that yes.
Same goes to tickets.
But I suggest you confirm
Actually was a big hassle calling, as they didn't understand my question, and was transferred in circles...

I need to book a few flights for an upcoming business trip. In your experience, does it make more sense to book United flights on the United Chase card or on the Saphire card for the value of the 3x points?

If you need luggage then you would need to book it with the United card to get the free luggage. However, with the reserve you will be earning 50% more points per dollar spent and it can always be transferred to United later.

Question re travel redemptions on CSR - Does it make sense that it comes out cheaper to use UR points for a paid stay at a category 7 Marriot rather than transferring 60k UR into 60k Marriot points? The cost of the night is $639 which I believe would amount to 42,600UR. IS THIS CORRECT?
Please let me know if this question belongs in a different thread. TIA

NEVER transfer UR to MT, you are devaluing your points, You can buy on the gray market points and cert. for much less than that...
