Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I read online that can use the travel credit for airbnb gift cards. However, cant seem to find where to buy them online? Looks to me like their only sold in stores. If I buy at staples or office depot will it still work?

Why would you sell for $250 if you can get $270 for $300 in Airbnb?

Effective for applications for the card that are submitted on or after 5/21/17, the annual travel credit will switch from being based on a calendar year to a cardmembership year. In other words if someone opens a card on 5/21 and their statement closes on the 1st of the month, they will get a $300 credit for all travel spending from 5/21/17 through 6/1/18. You can still double dip on the credit in you first cardmembership year by spending $300 on travel in June 2018 as Chase gives 30 days to close a card after the statement closes with an annual fee, but a triple-dip possibility has been eliminated.

I downgraded my CSR earlier this year to a Freedom. If I want the card again, should I reapply or can I upgrade my Freedom?

Also, will either option mean I can get the $300 travel credit again for 2019?

You would have to wait 48 months from the last bonus to apply again. You can upgrade.
Not sure how credits would work on an upgraded card if it was opened before they changed to the cardmember year system.

It still goes by cardmember year and not calendar

I was thinking about applying specifically to be able to redeem at 1.5cpp (and the $300 travel credit), but if I can upgrade that's certainly a better option.

When did they make the change? I opened the card around 9/6/16.
If I'm on cardmember year I'd get credit again now.

Thanks

IME it is extremely difficult to convert a card multiple times within a year, I've hucad and repeatedly been told it's not eligible on such accounts. On accounts where it has been over 12 months in that product I have no issue switching it.

Could you close a CSR via SM?
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

When transferring points to another airline program it says that it can only be transferred to yourself or an authorized user on the account. It even has a dropdown box to choose recipients. If I do not have authorized users because I dont want to pay the $75 for another card, how can I transfer to a spouse's mileage account?

You should be able to link the accounts.
Go to the ultimate rewards page the. Look for combine points. See attached pic, you will need the account number and name.
