Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

If I paid for my daughters sleep away camp with the CSR will she be covered out of state for medical emergencies or do I need to purchase a travelers medical policy?
Medical emergency will cover for any medical expense up to $2,500 with a $50n deductible. Chase terms state that you need to be 100 miles or more from home. Plus trip must include travel on a common carrier. The options of common carrier are plane, boat or “bus”. So i think the answer to your question will depend if your daughter when to camp with a bus :)

Has anyone tried transferring points from a non household member so points can be valued more ? I have a friend with a  different address who wants to transfer the points to me so I can redeem it for a higher value but not sure if it works or anyone has tried it

Not allowed and good chance of having your account shutdown.

It's against the contract. So, while it may work, ask your LOR if it's considered Gezel. (IIUC there are varying shitos about how T&C factor in to Gezel) It's just not worth burning for.

For the new redemptions of the $300 travel credit being used at gas and grocery, does that work in foreign countries as well? I live in Canada and want to use the card at grocery/gas.

Thanks.  I assume I can buy gift cards at those places as well? How quickly does the credit go through?

Also, is Costco considered a Grocery store?

If a hotel shows up as a different price on Chase Travel, even though it shows up correctly on Expedia, is there any use in calling them to get the same price as Expedia?

Anyone who can share a tip - preferably via PM - about getting around the annual fee, please do so.
Thank you.

I am aware of this. My question is regarding lowering the CL under 10k triggering a shutdown.

New or renewal?
I upgraded from the Preferred in February, and was charged the AF on July 1st. I called several times but they keep on telling me that the $100 credit is only for existing customers.
