Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Will I get a referral bonus if I have the Reserve card and refer someone to get the Sapphire preferred card?
How are you planning to do that?

I thought maybe they would accept it since in the past I had an Ink Cash card and referred someone to get the Ink Unlimited and I got the bonus.

I bought 4 cans of stain for my deck from Home Depot to finish my half started job at night.
While I bought the same color as my first few cans, I went ahead with my roller and finished the rest of the deck that night.
I wake up in the morning to find my deck 2 different colors.

What happened was, HD mixed up the color accidentally and now I have a multi colored deck.

I went back to HD and they told me oh I'm sorry there's nothing we can do as the cans are empty, should you have come back with the full cans we could have gave you a refund.( Well da sherlock if I had a full can.)

While I happened to have used my Chase Sapphire reserve card for the purchase I tried to file a claim for the stain but was turned down.

Does it make sense that they don't cover paint/stain?

Then they told me oh we don't have that feature of Return Protection.

That was fake news as the card account shows that as one of the benefits.

Now at this point which one of the benefits would you guys go with for this stain?

Return Protection
You can be reimbursed for eligible items that the store won’t take back within 90 days of purchase, up to $500 per item, $1,000 per year.*

Or

Purchase Protection
Covers your new purchases for 120 days against damage or theft up to $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per year.*

(Trying to help out a friend, don't know why he was turned down.)

if its less then $100 definitely dispute the charge (you did not get the item you paid for) if its more i would also go with a dispute but it could  take more time and you could not win

Where can I find the date that the SUB posted? Is it just the closing date of the statement it's listed on?

I would assume so being that you only get the points when the statement closes.

I have a similar situation.  Do I need to move points to the Ink?  I don't have one but my spouse does.  Which Freedom is best to downgrade to? I already  have a Freedom.

Unless things have changed, you should not have to move them as they will be kept alive (at a lower value) with a freedom, and the value will then increase when moved back to a sapphire card. The only issue I'm seeing here, is upgrading the Sapphire Preferred to the reserve right away. I believe there is a 1 year waiting period for that upgrade.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Thanks.  So when I upgrade I would have to pay $550?  Also which Freedom is better to downgrade to?

What do you have already? The bonuses are good now. So, you might want to sign up for a new one 1st, if you don't have it already. If you already have them all, the category ones are better, because you double the limit.
