My brother had a ticket on elal flying tom TLV to Ukraine this afternoon for a week.
He boarded the plane and they informed them they have to get off cus their plane was broken.
They offered him a free ticket anywhere in Europe to use within the year up to 6 hours worth of travel, and he also got a free hotel room for the night a ride there and free meals, and of course a flight out early in the AM.. i think he was taken care of very nicely...
But- im still jewish...and was wondering if we can get anything else from this?
The ticket was booked under my card im unsure of which one- either starwood or delta gold card...
from experience is this the best that will come.. or is it possible to get anything more(im jewish i knowwwwww!!!!)

through some glitch in the system they decided to compensate your brother nicely.

you got that when they put you're brother up at a hotel and payed for his meals and got him out on the am flight.  then he got a free ticket to europe, that's already more than your moneys worth by a nice bit.  now it's just greed.  and, as you said, the ticket wasn't even for you. and you're looking to make money on the deal? lol.

I don't feel the OP is being greedy.
Airlines offer compensation to make people happy and leave them with a good taste. The OP is simply asking for any help getting whatever compensation the airline offers.
In addition, while the whole story wasn't spelled out, what was, was that the OP's brother BOARDED THE PLANE, and then was informed of the flight cancellation. I would EXPECT to be compensated for any additional cost straight off the bat (most of my food bill and hotel).
Then there are two other issues that ElAl should have to/want to deal with: they messed up and should compensate the customer "to make it right" (think free overnight shipping when a company messes up an order), and also they might want to keep the customer happy, and as a gratuity extend something.
It sounds to me like a flight to Europe is the middle level of "we messed up, and we owe you compensation", and the OP wants the last one of "we want to keep you as a customer".

i think i have every right to see from others if im being compensated accordingly.
And as i repeat numerous times- how is it im being greedy when im looking out for my brothers interest?
And i also stated that I KNOW hes getting compensated well, but just makin sure theres nothin major im missing, and i was totally happy with what they were giving him.
If you have no interesting info on the matter- keep ur feelings to urself maybe. Or share ur feelings and just know your totally missing the point.

i think it was a mix of elal usually being cheap, and this time being generous.    and the fact that the post has been up for a day and not one person has voiced ideas for the op to "to get his money's worth" says more than words.                    the op's not alone in the boat though, there was a post from a guy who got 50k amex mr from the plat card and then had the nerve to ask them to pay him $450 to not cancel the card.  sounds about the same speed to me.
