Benjie, thanks for sharing. you are bringing back memories of my wonderful trip (Thanks to YOU). The alligator (or croc) guy is crazier then crazy. The monkey show I really did not like as they appear abused and tied to some little cage. Did you see the lion in the cage near the tigers? When I was there it was pacing back and forth and I tried making some noise to get its attention. That Lion didn't like what I was doing, so it aimed his "privates" out the cage and urinated on me, I'm not kidding it litterly used the fence to help it aim at me, it was gross and something I will never forget... (Not many people can say they gotten pissed on by a lion). My wife was so upset she didn't catch that on video....lol
Climbing up the waterfall was amazing and scary without any ropes. The guide guy is excellent!  Did you enjoy the little market he goes to pick up the fruit etc?

It a shame you didn't do the ziplineing! It was pretty awesome, not so much cause of views or height, rather the crazy tracks they have. They have you jump down (free fall) some 3 stories only to have the rope stop you at the bottom.
The Rabbi at CNX is a great great guy and a wonderful example of a Shaliach. In USM the Shabbos meals have twice as many people, however the Rabbi is a bit more distant.

I very much agree with you. I was going to mention it but wasn't going to turn this into a whole different thread. Definitely the least appealing of the different animal visits.

This bad boy? Yep, we spotted him.

Yes it was fun and the guide was excellent indeed. Lots of fun with him and a very knowledgeable guy as well (if we had the same one). He said he has numerous groups he takes through the woods for 2-3 days where you sleep in the jungle and actually bring the bare minimum and "create" huts and other stuff in the woods while you are there. Very cool.

It's fine. Ill do it some other place I am sure.

Great guy indeed in CNX. Cannot really comment on USM bc we literally arrived, picked up food at the Chabad and left again without making another appearance there.

Thanks! Sure, We got the executive suite.

Living room

Toilet (which required a plumber to come 3 times for just peeing  :o) I felt bad for the kid who had that job

Bedroom with extended couch to the left

Bathroom comprised of nice shower, double sink and mega jaquzzi that can fit 4 people with outstanding view

From the website just to portray the TV situation. It basically has TVs on both sides so LR and BR can be watching

nice! you mention that the city is close to the great jungles. i suppose you chose to stay in the city due to the points hotels, or are there no hotels in the jungle areas?

A) It is close to food, fun markets and many many tour guide places that can help you plan activities.

B) Especially when I booked it, as a Cat 2 hotel was some amazing value. For 14k points I got 4 nights in an executive suite during times in which a standard room went for over $200 a night. I would still book it as a Cat 3 now. I checked out the Shangri La as well while I was there one day because it looked nice but the rooms were very dated and the hotel did not feel as nice as the LM.

Overall a great choice if you are looking to stay at a nice place, close to adventure, close to Chabad that takes points.

There are plenty of hotels in the jungle area. And for quite cheap. I stayed in an elephant reserve in the middle of the jungle when I was there.

Unfortunately we can't take off from work for vacation now.
The plan is to go in February, but unfortunately that's more then 12 months from when I booked the tickets, and will have to cancel, and just suck it up, and pay the higher price for AA award.

Not that bad knowing that you'll at least be there in 6 months. It'll be fun.

Yup. Sucks, after all the time in the phone with AA Australia, booking the EY F glitch, I'll have to cancel. Plus the LM in CNX went up a category, and might be hard to reschedule per the old category

For the LM I have heard of success stories. Call SPG and ask nicely and see what they'll do.

Will do. Just have to figure out exactly when to rebook.
Anyways, I'm don't hijacking your TR.
Very nicely written. Hopefully I'll be able to make use of it soon.
