Wow, really? Didn't realize.

Yep.

If I ever meet someone flying them and paying $$ I really have to find out WHY. (And what they do for a living.  :D)

Wow, really? Didn't realize.
CX F (JFK-HKG) pre deval was technically better CPM than EK F (JFK-DXB).
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I know plenty of people paying J but can't think of anyone I know that pays full F fare.

CX F can still be had for a steal.  ;)

3x CX J < 1x CX F
-1
Just checked. OW J on HKG-JFK is a bit under $8k and OW F is ~$16k.

Even using miles, would you ever dream of paying 4x the fare in CX F over J?

CS91 just reminded me of that cute bit where you calculate how much your trip would have cost in real $$.

Wow, I sure as hell would have never been able to take a quick 8 day trip for $63,996 in any lifetime of mine.

Nice to be part of this community!

This trip had a "retail value" of $81,421.90 and that was with the majority of nights spent in an RV lol.

It's not 4x, but to answer your question, no. Unless I had an insane amount of money that it really didn't make a dent at all. Then sure, why not. And there are people that have that much money.

Weird. I was looking at the reverse routing for a random date in September and it was $8k vs. $16k.

Thats where my calculation came from. JFK-HKG is a good $3,000 cheaper then HKG-JFK; interesting.

I knew my comment was gonna prompt this, but I went for it anyway.

IMO you should be comparing RT prices. Even if you only took the flight as a OW, had you paid for it you likely would have gotten it at a RT rate. CX F RT isn't much cheaper than 2xOW, but CX J is.

:)

Then again, an RV for 10 days can easily run you in the $3,000 range from what I can see browsing the web.

That can easily trump hotel prices.

Same proportions.

OW JFK-HKG (N/S): CX J - $4.5K, CX F - $17.5K (~4X)

RT JFK-HKG (N/S): CX J - $7.5K, CX F - $29K (~4X)

Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

More consistently 4x. But my post is in general. Some flights r more expensive ow X1 than rt.
