-Mystic Seaport is 3 hours away (or longer) and group admission for 'youths' is $12.50 each.
-Bear Mountains are beautiful.  Close and free.  Perhaps hire some nature guys -park rangers or such - to give a nature talk and hike.
-Philipsburg Manor is only 35 minutes away.  Admission for children (3-17) is $6. (pehaps there's a cheaper group rate.) It's a great place!  If you have good guides.  I don't know if 350 guests can be accommodated at once.

tx but forgot to add this trip will take place end of jan or february so it needs to be somewhat indoors and somewhat educational

Then even my option 3 might not be available.

tx!now we just need to find a way to make it educational!
Turn it into physics class.   Heavy kid makes it to bottom faster due to same frontal area wind resistance but greater pull of gravity.   Kid that sprays tube with PAM has less friction and gets to bottom faster. My high school physics teacher did this same type thing at an amusement park with roller coasters.  Kids loved it.   He won a prize for ingenuity.
