There most definitely was no cheap rental that fit my needs picking up on a Sunday from Las Vegas and returning back to Las Vegas during the week of July 4th.

I've never seen a cheap RV returning to the rental location. For these cheap deals you need to be willing to do one way.

Picking up Sunday can be hard to find period, deal or no deal.

Nice of you to hijack my trip report thread - I thought there was a new motorhome thread or have you forgotten.

If you think you are so smart, let me tell you that you most definitely are not. I also know how to get a motorhome for next to nothing. However, good luck finding a deal like that during the week of July 4th.

I'm rotf at your foolishness.
Mind-boggling why the fact that I got a good deal ticks you off like that. But in any case, I'm not that ignorant and am very well aware of the narrow terms and dates available of the deal. Although...
-1
There were deals like that available the week of July 4th. (I was planning on doing one myself but it didn't work out in the end.)

That being said, just because there were such deals available doesn't mean there was one that fit your specific needs...
Anyways, that still doesn't preclude me from getting a kick out of how little I paid (or how much you did), and that's not something that should get someone enraged either.

And what's this whole business of "hijacking your thread"? Did Dan start leasing out threads here?! I thought we're on a public forum here, PCMIIW.
I liked your TR and thank you again for your help, but TR's are not private blogs or diaries; they're always open to public comment.

You're welcome
Indeed! Credit where credit is due! Thank you! :)

Hey OP, looking for some advice. Looking to do a similar trip less the RV. What I mean is, I am looking to rent a house with a pool somewhere out there and use it as a home base and do day trips to all these places with a day or two break in between to recuperate. (Did something similar this summer in Yellowstone and it worked out great for my family of six.)What would be a centrally located place. Preferably with a minyan, but it's not a deal breaker.

I am thinking Vegas, but would love to hear your input.

Kanab, Utah is 1-1.5 hours away from Bryce, Zion, Page, and the Grand Canyon North Rim.  However, don't expect a minyan.  Las Vegas is way too far away.

Have an opportunity to drive an rv from Midwest to California on Wednesday with family for free.

Is 2 days enough prep?

Which route is suggested? I am totally overwhelmed with all the different possibilities.

With the amount of first-timers that took RV trips last Summer, I'm really surprised there have been no posts to this thread in nearly 3 years.
Looking to do a similar trip this Summer. With RVShare opening up a whole new world of RV options over Cruise America or El Monte, I suspect even more families will be taking RV trips this Summer after hearing friends' reports from last year. If anyone has plans to take a RV trip with similar itinerary to OP, beginning day after 17 Taamuz-6/28, please reply. Additionally, if anyone knows of frum RV Whatsapp groups, post as well.

This is what you're looking for.

Thanks. Saw that. Seems more general in nature, and was looking more specifically for people planning a trip in the AZ/UT area.

In that case you probably want to post in the UT or AZ threads in the Destination Guides And Trip Planning board.

Or alternatively, start an RV destination thread.

One thing you might want to keep in mind is that Arizona and Utah will be very hot in the summer.  There are parts, however, that are cool even in summer such as Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon.  Depending on where you want to go, I am not sure that this is the best option for a summer RV trip.  Feel free to PM for more specific information.

Trip planned for the week beginning Monday the day after 17 Taamuz (6/28).
Shabbos 7/2-7/3 is actually planned for Chabad Flagstaff, who offer full RV hookup.
So, meals & tefilos in Chabad with sleeping in RV.
Hoping to find 2-3 families looking to do a similar itinerary so we can have minyanim Mon-Thu.
Mon - Landing in LAS, Drive to Zion
Tues - Bryce Canyon
Wed - Lake Powell
Thu/Fri - Antelope Canyon/Horseshoe Bend

Then Sun 7/4 (Grand Canyon) & Mon 7/5 (Grand Canyon AM then drive back to LAS to return RV and red-eye flight back to East Coast).
I have to say kaddish and hoping to still salvage this trip vs scrapping it.

Just one note: IME, RV rental companies typically want the RV back in the morning.

If you reschedule to bain hazmanim you are much more likely to get minyanim.

@PBaruch How would you rate the upper Antelope canyon vs lower?

Are both as family friendly?
