Are there any free programs that can encrypt PDF?
I know acrobat does but I'm not looking to spend 50-60 nor torrent.
Thank you

What I mean is for security. That I should be able to password protect it etc. I've received PDF's in the past that were secured.

Protect from editing or from viewing without password?

You should be able to add a password straight from MS Word when saving as PDF

Is there a utility to remove a "printer" COMPLETELY with all residuals just like there's for programs?
Whenever i remove a printer they usually come back

If you have Windows Pro you can use Print Management for that. See here https://uknowit.uwgb.edu/page.php?id=52550

For Windows Home, you can try the alternative way here in the 2nd half of the page, through registry edits, but you should not touch the registry without knowing what you are doing!

But keep in mind that if the printer is still connected to the machine it might reinstall through the printer's PNP capabilities.

For the issue i'm having now removing the driver would not work since i have a duplicate copy of the same printer trying to remove the copy

There is no way to "completely" remove something while staying with it...that is what want to do. I'd suggest you remove both of them normally, then force remove through Print Management (while printer is unplugged.) And afterward just install the printer freshly.

ok needed this for myself figured I would share (not my code i just added a word or 2)

I needed to make sure that a program is always running and if its not then start it. The max break I can have is 5 min.
I set a schedule to run the batch file (bat) at logon and repeat every 5 min.

cmd.exe /c tasklist /FI "IMAGENAME eq outlook.exe" | find /I /N "outlook.exe" ||start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE"

Can anyone recommend an easy to use utility to batch resize photos, where I can take a bunch of pictures and tell it to make them smaller so that all together they add up to a certain amount of GB?

I've been using irfanview but it's trial and error to get my desired total size.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

If I may ask what is the objective with this?

Sure! Google groups has a limit of how many GB of attachments can be in an email (I think it's 5gb). When I want to send out 3-4 pics to a group, I need to resize them first.

You mean MB, it is 8 MB.

I think that you should do it with a calculator. Do 8192/? (where the question mark is the number of photos you wanna send) and the results is the size each photo can be resized to with any batch resizer.

Yes I mean MB. Do most batch resizers let you set the output file size?

Most do not, I meant to say with any that has this feature. And you mentioned you're using IrfanView, which can do it if it has the plugins installed:

Got it - thanks!

(I'm only using irfanview cuz I have it, if there was something out there that could do this in fewer steps I wouldn't mind)

Gmail client is nice! For someone like me, Gmail web interface addict..., this can help with some of the shortcomings vs. a normal client.
