I was able to split a 1500 page pdf every N (in my case 11) pages with this: https://pdfsam.org/pdfsam-basic/

Then I was able to rename each of the 141 resulting files with this https://www.advancedrenamer.com/ but the coolest part, I was able to rename each file based on data in a csv list!

That's great! There may be more value in knowing when to use which software/utility, than in actually knowing how to use them.

What's the best free way to convert mp4 files to mov?

OR: anyone know why mp4 files are coming up as really pixelated in Corel Videostudio, when mov files look just fine? The mp4 files are 29fps and the mov files are 25fps which may be the problem, but the Videostudio project is set to 29 also.

not exactly a utility but ffmpeg is very powerful

Ended up using WinFF which is a gui wrapped around ffmpeg, it's great! Let's you convert in batch which is super helpful. I had to try out a bunch of formats until I found one that looks nice and also renders in Corel.

Thanks for the advice! Zamzar looks good for when I'm not at my own computer, I'll keep it in mind.
