A little rant now:
You Google "Free video converter"
You get hundreds of pages of garbage results (in 0.28 seconds)
The first hundred are garbage.gaarbage.garbage. (looking at you, freemake video converter)
But why?? Because algorithms
This is free, quick, slick, supports many, many formats, and integrates into windows beautifully (if that's even possible)
Windows should just buy this and build it into windows. (and everything)

I recently discovered this program. I don't know what the functionality was like back then compared to
now, but at this point, it seems insanely good (though I don't have experience with similar programs).
It can watch your clipboard so that merely copying a URL from a supported site means you've generated
automatable downloads of entire groups of files, like a Soundcloud album. For YouTube, it can currently download
in higher than 360p and also allows you to download audio-only versions of videos as well as subtitles for videos
(though I have yet to determine whether these are auto-generated subtitles in cases where specific ones exist).

And all I was looking for was a program I could tell to download a list of files one at a time.
(To do that, you set the maximum simultaneous downloads per source to 1.)

Handbrake is very complicated to use (at least for me - I couldn't figure it out). I think for that specific use, AVC (Any Video Converter) would work fine.

AVC (most confusing name ever!... "Any video converter program" or "The Any Video converter program"...) is indeed a great option, has a Merge feature right there. But to note, on the free version (since the new v8 program remake) you're limited to merging 5 pieces at a time.

If all the pieces are the same video encoding/format, simply cut in pieces, then a very great option may be LosslessCut. It has a Merge/Concatenate option, and it's blazing fast (since it doesn't re-encode the video at all).

I can't believe no one mentioned this yet.
Ditto clipboard manager, it's better than the built-in Windows one in every way.
If you never used a clipboard manager, you don't know what you're missing. It makes life so much easier.
