What Was Your First Ever Award Booking?

Epic value? Embarrassingly bad?

Mine was spending ~50k MR on two one way tickets LGA-DEN using the Amex pay with points option :-X :-X :-X.

This was in 2009, a few years before I discovered DDF, but I still cringe when I think about it.

12½k united EWR/LAX. I somehow convinced a manager to give it to me. We were flying together as a group, and there was no more saver reward, I HUCA'd for 2 hours till I found someone who manually created saver award for me😂 (2012)

I booked:

LAX-(SYD)-MEL (destination) on UA
BNE-BKK (stop) on TG
BKK-NRT//HND-LAX on TG//NH

I used 80k UA per person in Y though it took a while to book over the phone. This was shortly after joining DDF in 2011.

Embarrassingly bad, but here goes (reservation was for two people, but all prices are per person):

PHL-MIA-CUN 35k AA (AAnytime Award)
CUN-MIA 17.5k AA
MIA-PHL 12.5k AA

So basically, 65k AA per person for a vacation in Cancun with a long stopover (for Shabbos) in MIA on the return. Brutal.

Booking made in March 2014.

Golly, I have no idea.

And early one would have to be JFK-MXP in J using 60K CX miles was probably booked around 2004. Though I booked that for someone else.
My AVNYC systemwide award for GRU-DFW-JFK-NRT-LAX-MIA-GRU was booked in 2004.
I got a few Delta chaperone awards for booking out a LAX-JFK flight for my yeshiva in 2002.

Then again I've been a member of CO OnePass since 1989, so there were probably earlier redemptions than that.
