I know there is a general discussion about Solar Panels, but I am looking to have a more specific discussion on LG 310W solar panels vs Sunpower 327 W Solar Panels. As an intro im in NYC so we get decent local tax breaks in addition to the federal breaks.
If I goto through Sunrun costco I can get the system for 19500 before tax breaks and a 783 costco gift card and probably pay with a credit card.
If go through Sunpower I can get an equivalent system for about 27000 if I pay by check. Is Sunpower really worth the extra money. The final difference will not be as great as there is a 30% federal tax incentive which narrows the gap but still it seems like all in factoring the costco gift card its 7800 out of pocket vs about 12k out of pocket. Any insights?
