Good to know. Rules that one out. Hilton Tel Aviv or Ritz?
IMHO Hilton TLV. As diamond you get free breakfast and lounge access which includes a nice food selection throughout the day (rabanut). I also like the location better, but it's a question of taste

I just spoke recently with the Mashgiach at the TLV Hilton

"Good morning, all dairy food in the hotel חלב ישראלexcept for products that are closed in individual packagingאבקת חלב עכו״ם, on which it is written
For further questions, my phone number is 0525635842"

Any issues here being booked as a second guest using someone else's certificate?
Anyone with any experience on this?

Anyone knows of a mincha/maariv (specifically a minyan with maariv immediately after mincha) in Hertzliya?

Throughout Chodesh Av, there is minyanim at the Ritz. Second floor meeting rooms

Shachris is 8:15
Mincha fifteen min before shkia, followed by maariv

2 unrelated questions...(1) Where's nearest reliable minyan?  (2) Only Silver Elite and staying on combined free nights/points bookings - any chance of upgrade, even paid, or will they not upgrade free nights bookings?

For those of us with an Israeli visa, when booking on points, do we have to pay the 17% VAT or not?

No vat

Unless I'm mistaken - Tourist Visa (B visas) No vat. Student Visas (A visas) YES VAT

VAT is never collected on points bookings, even if you're Israeli. That's because vat is collected on NIS revenues and as far as tax is concerned, points bookings are treated as free.

You'll pay on all the extras
