From my experience with shoes Rockport #1 and Geox#2 and then goes Ecco #2-3, especially the rockport hush puppies are crazy comfortable with all that extra padding, If you were happy I wouldn't change to a different shoe! Did you try to shop it around if they sell that shoe any cheaper! (Ps-Better to spare an extra 20$ to keep your feet in good health, rather then have feet problems when your older! )
Just curios are you over 6feet 1-2? (usually such feet goes with hieght)?

I'm just under 6 feet. My feet are just wide, though they're not actually 13 long. More like 12.

No Allen Edmonds fans here?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Bought them once maybe 15 years ago. I think my feet still hurt.

An uncomfortable shoe will, by definition, last long, as you will wear it as little as possible!
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Cole Haan is having a sale right now. They are incredible shoes and though they may be a bit pricey, they will last a long time (I have a pair that have so far lasted me 2 years and look great). Just make sure you don't get the ones with wooden soles as they will crack after around 6 months.

I don't think they have 13 3E.

Wow. I go through Eccos in around six months, but they're still the only shoes I buy.

I found that they last longer when you have two pairs and rotate.

Huh?
Quote from Sherlock Holmes regarding his esteemed colleague Watson. In this situation, obviously if you rotate your shoes, they will last for longer

He didn't mean that they will last double as long.
They last longer than that.

My uncle who is a dermatologist always says to switch off shoes and let them dry outto help prevent athlete's foot and other stuff from the moisture.

My feet spend more time (in aggregate) in my shoes than any other piece of clothing. And my feet carry my entire body wherever I go. I don't compromise one bit on shoes. They must be comfortable and I really prefer if they last long.

For me there's a one word answer: ECCO

And if I have to pay $40 or even $80 more than other shoes, it's money well spent due to greater comfort and double (or more) the usable life.

I'm not a 13E and I don't know if ECCO makes them, but my recommendation for you is to find something that works well for you, and stick to it. It might be worth a trip to Macy's or Shoemania or some other serious shoe store that has a wide selection of brands. Once you find something that works, future purchases will be easier (and you could probably do them online).
Well said.

It may also be helpful to bleach your socks and spray lysol in your shoes to prevent fungus.
