That says nothing about what the BOE position is.
The BOE believes that the fact that the State loaned money to Lakewood - which is only legal if it's the only way T&E can be provided - is enough proof that the funding formula has to be fixed, and there is no reason to say that the students of Lakewood are getting an inadequate education.Basically, you don't need to claim a lack of T&E in order to prove that the formula is broken. Relying on loans for T&E is sufficient to prove the point.
The loans are advanced state aid. It is deducted over ten years from the time of the loan. This year we are paying back $20 million. That means that we have lost almost all of our state aid for 2021-22. Next year we will get none. The monitor will order local taxes to increase to the fullest extent of the law to make up for the lost state aid. This will continue and eventually the legislature will authorize even larger increases in Lakewood taxes to make up for the lost state aid. This loss of all out future state aid is the fruit of Lkwd leaders who said for two decades, "We're working with Trenton." Not a one of them has cooperated, replied to my emails or publicly shown any support.Wake up askanmim! The governor does not have the power to forgive the loans and no one in the legislature wants to lift a finger for Lakewood, unless it is to raise more taxes.Say, if my case brings an extra $100 million a year and repayments are $100 million, they cancel. And your BOE wanted to delay the case another two years for a remand to the lower court. For what reason? To prove that the state IS providing a constitutional education in Lakewood. So go figure, because I do not understand. Anyway, their motion lost. They still will be a thorn in the side as we make our way to the NJ Supreme Court.A Lang
Could someone please post the article in the shopper on the topic? TAI

I've heard about this one before, and I've spoken to people about it. It is pretty much unenforceable. How are you going to prove who lives in Lakewood and who doesn't?
They could say they allow one family per registered address in Lakewood....which would also resolve multi family houses where 1 houses property taxes pays schooling for several families....
They live by the dozen there's no way to prove that family 14 doesn't live here
