Does anyone know if you can disable/remove a preloaded app such as Prime video on a fire tablet I tried multiple times but there does not seem a way to do it?  Even though wifi was disabled some of the pictures and titles themselves are unsavory to some.

any other ideas besides parental controls?

also you can pay to have offers disabled so as not to see ads on the lock screen

Its not the ads; I believe its preloaded movie titles and pictures loaded in the app that maybe not be so suitable for some families etc...
Nothing wrong with parental control but was wondering if I can get ride of the Prime video app altogether but I guess not so easy?

what about "rooting" the device? is that doable by a non-expert?

it will not be practical for a non-expert amazon has a reason they sell things so cheaply.
the recommended method is to disable prime video from parental controls

They are subsidizing the cost of the device with advertisements on the lock screen and their own products which are so visible and integrated you will want to use them
