Very simple. If you put security there, you will just have another back up of people outside the entrance and the shooter cam just let loose there and you didn't solve anything.

The same people that can stop an active shooter in any crowded train station or similar. Airports aren't the only places with people.

Israel BH has the best system in place. The problem is, if they do that in America it'll be racial profiling and it'll never fly.

There was a fascinating article a couple weeks ago in the Hamodia (id assume it was copied from somewhere else) that compared security perimeters and parameters in USA, Israel, Afghanistan, Paris and a few other countries iirc Afghanistan although having the most security checkpoints etc it still had the most terror attacks and deaths even with having dispersed crowds...
