I want to replace my Bryant Evolution Thermostat SYSTXBBUID01 but I cannot get the thing off the wall and so far google has been little help.

If you look at the comments here others also have the same problem but they said to just pull hard and I've pulled really hard and even tried to pry it off with a flat head screwdriver but at the risk of cracking it and/or pulling the whole thing (with the base) out of the wall I didn't want to go further.

Any ideas? Yes, it's been on the wall for years and years but still...
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Would something like this help? Always better to use the right tool, and prying with a screwdriver is improvising

I was hoping someone would have the same thermostat and can offer insight. If I use a prybar I'll probably break it just the same as with a flat head.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Ac running.
Blowing air, (fresh filters), keeps house relatively cool, but runs alot.
But when putting hand by various vents, neither of them are freezing cold, like it should be, and therefore it takes much longer to cool down.

What can be the issue?

Use a putty knife or 2.  It spreads out the lifting pressure.

Can you post a picture? It does seem like giving it a bit more force should work.

Thanks.

But I've hit another snag, it seems that this is a proprietary bryant device designed to work only with bryant equipment. I was hoping to replace it with a sensi wifi stat but based on this it seems like that's not possible and I would need to use one of theirs which are prohibitively overpriced.  :-\

I'm not a big fan of justanswer.com but in this case it seems to be correct. Seems like you don't have many options.

I'm not answering your actual question, just pointing out that tankless can have potential issues for Yom Tov. AYLOR

Rheem has models that are rated >11 GPM with a 1 inch gas pipe. You'll need a proper vent or chimney too. Most of the installation is very DIY except for making the pipe amd chimney connections.

For Y"T maybe someone can invent a tankless with a pilot light  ;D

Should I get an attic fan?
On 90+ degree days my main floor stays under 72ish but my upstairs is 78+. My house (in NJ) has 2 central AC/heat systems.  One is in the attic and my attic is probably 130 degrees right now. An HVAC guy just told me the unit is fine, but being that its sucking in such hot air, and that the ductwork is in such a hot attic, by the time the air gets to my bedrooms it isn't cold. He said I need a good attic fan installed. Though google seems to say they can cause more problems. Any advice?

Not asking but just going to vent a bit.

The HVAC system in our new-ish house was installed so badly, such a terrible job. Despite having a new house with a brand new system, and spray foam, the main floor could barely ever cool down, I would have it running on 68 all day and it still wouldn't feel that cool in my house. I finally brought someone last September to check out my house, but instead of inspecting the house, he quickly shoots in some freon and bills me $400, claiming thats all it needed. But my house is hotter than ever. I brought down another HVAC guy a couple weeks ago and he finds that the condenser and indoor units were mixed up, my 3 ton condenser was hooked up to my tenants 2 ton unit, and the tenants 2 ton condenser was hooked up to my 3 ton unit.

Sure enough we swapped out the units and I feel sufficiently-cool air in my house for the first time ever. There were also issues with the ductwork among other things but can't be fixed. It's really sad how poorly these things are built, many HVAC installations that are being performed in Lakewood should not be acceptable by any means.

Its not HVAC and it’s not Lakewood it’s an overall problem with lots of subs IMO
