Orbitz changed my flight HELP

I booked a flight to fly out from JFK to tlv motzie Yom Kippur, and return Sunday Oct 30 tlv - jfk. flying Ukrainian with a stop in kiev both ways

they changed my return flight to a 22 hour stop, instead of 1:45.

 They offered to refund me for full fare if I want, or fly out next day with the short stop.

I booked on platinum card any way to get compensation from airline or amex for this?
 as well if I take the flight a day later I would need to miss a day at work as well extra hotel night any advise is helpful
