office party planning help needed!!

Hi,
We are planning to conduct a office party for our employees. Whenever we had conducted a office party only a few had attended it. So we thought of planning something out of the box so that the employees turn up for the party. We searched online for more ideas and found and read this blog http://www.abbeyroadentertainment.com/blog/office-party/five-awesome-themes-next-office-party/. By reading this blog we thought of keeping a theme for the party. We don't know whether this idea would work or not? Does anyone have experience in conducting a theme party? Please advise.
