I got a RSVP code in the mail to upgrade and I also got an email to upgrade,
My question is, can I upgrade through the email link and use the RSVP on my new gold (same business different names) which I just applied for?

Trying to upgrade a personal gold card to platinum, but have been told that the account must be 13+ months old to upgrade due to "new laws". HUCA gave same answer. Worth another shot or is that actually the rule?

It is actually a real law.

It is a law, But after two HUCA someone picked up and said they can switch it with no problem.

IME on biz cards you need to wait 0 days and if you hit a dome rep just HUCA if you wanna upgrade with the 30k bonus you may need to wait 30 days but year is a made up story or unenforced rule

For business cards I agree with you but after another 2 HUCAs it seems like sillypainter is correct on personal cards - it's a law and they won't budge

Also for the 30k bonus, do I have to do additional spending?

How long has it been? Might take a statement or two. You can always PUTPAC to have them expedited.
When I did the upgrade had to do 100 spend.

I had the 30k offer showing if I upgrade from BRG to Biz Platinum. Called up to see if I could get 100k. Agent could not find any offer sent to my address but did find another 'similar offer that also had 100k for $10k in 3 months. However, this was for a new application not an upgrade which works so long as you have not had the product for 12 months (I had it about 18 months ago). I went ahead with it and was approved.

Critical timing as it should allow me to take advantage of the $200 airline credit in 2014 and 2015 which basically off-sets the fee should I decide to keep it.

Called to upgrade and CSR said that she can upgrade me, but since I had the Biz plat within the last 12 months, I won't get the points.
