Was there a credit pull?
Did you cancel the card? If yes, when, and did you get a full refund of all fees?

Is there any possible downside to taking advantage of this upgrade?

anyone receive the targeted offer, upgrade to platinum and then try to have amex match or at least issue additional points as a courtesy because there are offers for 100k on the platinum and "its not fair for existing cardmembers to lose out..."?

I don't think that'll work for people who just got 100k on their plat and still have it open.

I noticed AMEX only charged me $225.00 annual fee for the business platinum. Was that a mistake? The original e-mail said:

"With the rewards and 30+ premium features of the Business Platinum Card, the $450 annual fee can quickly pay for itself. Plus when you upgrade today you can earn 25,000 bonus points with your first purchase!"

Maybe I should keep it...at $225 its a steal.

Ah, probably prorated from the start date of when I opened my Business Gold card- so I won't get a full year- not worth it then.
