The cheshbon is that you upgrade, get the points, buy the AA GC's do the Platinum Guy's Great Mehalech, then downgrade back or close and get the Annual Fee of the Plat reimbursed. If cancelled within 60 days you get it all back; if more than 60 days it is prorated.

The question is why won't you get charged a $95 fee for having the green card the same way you would get charged $175 for the Gold.

You would. That's why i closed right away. To simplify: upgraded the BRG to the plat, got 25k and $200, downgraded to the Green and got another 5k, then closed the card and got the plat AF back. This is not my first time writing about this. Must have gone unnoticed last time.

I am reading many different experiences on downgrading back to BRG regarding the AF.  Did they used to not charge and now they do?  Something an SM can take care of?  Id like to keep the card open a while longer, since its my first biz card and id be closing it 2 months after opening it. YMMV?

The reps will tell you that after downgrading you will be charged an AF, but most (actual) reports indicate that not being so.

I transferred my Amex Biz Plat points to my personal Blue MR account (which I always keep, since there is no annual fee).
Then I canceled the Plat.
Now I can't transfer the points to other FF programs (as Blue MR points don't transfer), but I assume if in the near future I open a personal Plat or Gold - even these points (which are currently Blue MR) could be transferred along with the new ones.
Am I correct in this?

Yes, but it's a transfer, not a sign-up. The only card i can think of that you get a bonus for a transfer.
