The cheshbon is that you upgrade, get the points, buy the AA GC's do the Platinum Guy's Great Mehalech, then downgrade back or close and get the Annual Fee of the Plat reimbursed. If cancelled within 60 days you get it all back; if more than 60 days it is prorated.

I just upgraded today from the Gold to Platinum, planning to close before the AF.
Will I be able to order additional cardholders as well, and not pay if I close before the AF hits?
(I would like the additionals to have Plat plastic for lounge entry)

I'm pretty sure it said just the primary gets upgraded.

RE: my original question: I know there is an additional charge for additional users, my question is, can I add the additonals but cancel before 30 days (or whatever) and have that charge refunded?

I had the same problem. I upgraded back on 6/20, got a letter two days later welcoming me to new Platinum Rewards & Benefits saying that my card should arrive in 2-3 biz days. Yesterday I still didn't receive the card so I called in to see whats up and they told me wait one more day, if it doesn't come call in and we'll overnight you a new card. It still didn't come today so I called in and they over-nighted me a new card, no questions asked. Just call in and ask for a new one.

Just got an email with the offer for 25k MR including a phone number with bonus ID code if I choose to upgrade via phone.
I only just downgraded two months ago after getting the 25k. However per this:

I personally know of card accounts that got the 25k more than once. However that was prior to the change in their T and Cs. It seems they updated that when they added all the 12 month mumbo jumbo. If anyone gets it please post as Ive been wondering for quite some time.

probably not nogeiah to most but on our business gold card (very heavy monthly spend) we were offered 30K to upgrade to plat after 10K spend (drop in the bucket). Was just an offer they presented while on the phone...didnt call asking for it.

I also didn't get the card.

I got the welcome letter... I spent on the card and still haven't gotten the 25k, but could be their system is possibly slow, as I didn't get the card nor got the bonus.
