No. (Assuming you already spent on it, as some have reported it being necessary to do to receive the bonus - though, that wasn't my experience.)

Anyone successfully upgraded from green to platinum, received the 25K points, then went back down to green prior to the $450 fee being applied (think its 6-8 weeks), and still retained the points?

Oh I just realized that I never activated the green card rather kept the platinum physical card. Could that be a reason for not getting the 5k or nothing to do ?

You need to spend at least $1.
And make sure you have the "Green Rewards" and not just the "Green".

I downgraded to green and the 5k bonus did not show up until my next statement, and I had not activated the green card yet.
how long have you used your platinum card after you downgraded ?

I am assuming it is a business green rewards card, if so you should have gotten the 5k already, you can call or chat.
if it was a personal card or the non-rewards card, I don't know if there is a bonus or not.

I currently have an Amex Gold Business Account which I just got billed the annual fee on (which comes out to $175 + $50 for add'l cardholder). At this point, I'm not sure if I want to pay for the renewal (or possibly downgrade to to a Business Green Rewards card for less $$$). Would it make sense for me to try to upgrade my account from Gold to Platinum at this point for extra 30k pts? Will I automatically be approved for this? If they upgrade me, will they they credit the annual fees for the gold cards ($175+$50) and then charge me the annual fees for the Platinum cards ($450+$175)?

And you can then downgrade to the green and get back the fee difference between Plat and Green (+5k MR YMMV)

Thanks. I just submitted my "upgrade" request, and I noticed it says that only the primary cardholder will be upgraded. Does that mean that the additional gold cards will just be "cancelled" unless I request individual upgrades for each of them? Would it be $175 for each additional card on the Business Platinum acct?
