It would be nice if we can see where the latest likes came from, and also have the likes sorted latest to earliest (like posts are).

Not sure what you are saying. That page is sorted by post time. If I like a 3 year old post of yours it would  e lost somewhere in the middle.

I find that once in a while I Like a post if someone replied to a post of mine and I want them to know that I read their reply and just don't have anything more to add, even if there's nothing particularly like-worthy about their post. It just avoids a useless "I hear" or "Ok" post.

Does anyone else here do that? Does it make sense?

I do the same. The problem is that the person doesn't get notified, so they have to notice your like by revisiting their post (unlikely unless someone else responds) or checking their list of liked posts to see if there are any new ones.

True. But if they're really interested in seeing whether I replied then they'd probably go back to that thread at some point to check, at which point that may notice the Like.
