It's obtrusive presence infiltrates every post.  I think it deserves it's own thread.

Why is this necessary altogether (even thumbs)?
Who really cares what everyone thinks about every comment? Why can't we have a simple conversation without the $.02? At most have it just for threads. But for each comment?

Don't, surprisingly seems to be discussed all over but still doesn't exist. Would put $10 in a collection jar to help pay for it.

It gives credence to posts, if you can filter for it it would help filter big threads for the most important/best posts.

For threads, OK. For posts? Can't we just leave it at +1, add to wiki, etc.? It's just more friendly to scroll through posts that way, without all the extra stuff

Personally I'd prefer it be like reddit or slashdot where:
1. Conversations get threaded and you can contract/minimize them.
2. You can filter by ratings and only see quality posts.

Imagine a thread with 1000 posts where you can get 90% of the content by reading 10 of the posts. The above two enhancements would save you loads of time reading and processing information.

That was my part of my point in my original post. If there is going to be a like button there should be a dislike button.
